Camping Party Recap

Saturday was Cheeks' birthday party.  Being her father's child, she LOVES the summer and being outside.  One of our yearly traditions is spending a week camping at the lake.
And if any of you follow me on Pinterest, you already know we picked a GIRLY CAMPING for the party theme this year.
**How did we EVER plan a party or even before Pinterest?  Seriously.

In true Natalie-fashion, I went WAY overboard with food, decorating and planning but this morning when I was told that she, "had an amazing time" and I "plan the best parties" I considered it all worth it.
This kid melts my heart every.single.time.

Now, on to the picture over load.  Details are at the end of the post

Hair bow favors:: each girl received one in her goody bag
Speaking of goody bags, the girls each got their own blanket.  How cute are those polka dots?

Each kid went home with S'More trail mix:: Golden Grahams, Marshmallows and Chocolate Morsels

Decorating was SO much fun.  Colors were pink, green and brown. There were tents, pine cones and lanterns in the house.  The back yard became a mini-camp site with a fire pit and camper

Used paint pens on planks of wood to stick in the front yard.

When deciding on the paper for the mandatory fireplace banner, I was informed that she didn't want it to say "Happy Birthday" because.. and I quote.. "I like my name MUCH better than the Happy Birthday words."  yep, that's my kid : )

One wall in the dining room had a woodsy scene complete with a camper for a photo op.  Even the "camp counselors" took advantage..
I love this kid : )

The chalkboard in the kitchen was even decorated with the theme

For their craft, each girl glued their traced hand onto a wood plaque with camping die cuts.

Camping cookies

S'mores station included graham crackers, white chocolate bars, regular chocolate bars, Reese's Cups, JUMBO, regular and pink marshmallows.  Remember how I said I went overboard?  Yeah, just a little bit.

Two girls were allowed to stay and "camp" all night. Listening to their little voices and giggles as they fell asleep brought back so many slumber party memories.
I woke up to find this guy near the front door.  People in their underwear means it was a good party, right?

Hope you enjoyed our "camp out".  It was so much fun to plan, but I'm glad birthdays only happen once a year. I'm exhausted!
