Phoenix Vacay

Marrying into a large, Catholic family means LOTS of family get-togethers for holidays and weddings. Because of various reasons, we've been unable to attend the previous two weddings so we were determined to make it to this one.

And I am SO glad we did.  I had a blast! It was the first time for either of us to visit Arizona, but the highlight was making so many memories with the extended family.  They certainly know how to throw a party.

our view as we left the Resort each day

yes, it really was that breath taking

I asked if we could do a little shopping at this dealership.. he said no

so I asked if we could go here.

It should also be noted that there was a third car lot, but I was too in awe to snap a pic.  It was for a Fiskar Lotus.
Thursday, the groom-to-be hosted a golf scramble.  I spent my day shopping while the Hubs went to the greens with his Fam.  When we met back up at a late lunch, I heard stories of a Bridesmaid being hit by a rogue golfball.  Guess who the golfer was that hit it.  Yep. The hubs is NOT the next Tiger Woods.

Friday night , everyone was treated to a fun time for the rehearsal dinner.  We ate at a local pizzeria in downtown Scottsdale which happens to be the.cutest.town EVER.

sharing old memories over a cold beverage?  Yes, please.

the look on Joe's cousin face is priceless.

I felt very blessed to be able to be part of this lovely couple's happy day.  The ceremony was so sweet and you could tell from the way they couple looked at each other, but also the way their families talked about them that this is a love that will last.  I was in tears halfway through the reception listening to the speeches.

the groom's sister, also Joe's cousin, during the vows.  I happened to glance over and see her wiping tears from her eyes while watching her younger brother say I Do.

god bless him.. he tried to smile

There's something about attending a wedding that makes me reflect on my own marriage.  Next month will be 8 years, but it feels like yesterday when I was the one wearing white.  I hope this couple is as happy with their marriage as I am with mine.

I had A BLAST getting away for a few days, but I'm so glad to be home to my babies.  Because even though (and I quote) they only, "missed me just a little bit" I missed them a whole lot.
And in typical crazy family fashion, I already have 5 loads of laundry to get washed today.
