Last weekend was the holiday and a friend's birthday celebration. This weekend is the NFL opening weekend and we're hosting a get together complete with homemade rib cooking. And NEXT weekend, I"ll be on a mini-vacay in Phoenix for a family wedding.

We all know Cheeks wants to be a singer/songwriter when she grows up. She's penned quite a few little melodies, but it appears she also has dabbled a bit into some poetry. I found a note with this on the couch this morning.
Do the day right and your day will take flight.

Nothing sad, rather glad.
Help with chores and close the doors
set the table let the dog out
Then there's no doubt you've been bad
and for Mom to get mad.
Random Thought 2
My little writer extraordinaire still uses a few of her own Jolie-isms. There used to be more, but as she's gotten older they were replaced with the correct terms (sads). One of the last to go is the word STARCASTIC.. as in SARCASTIC. I, for one, will fight the loss of this one as long as I can. I love her take on it.
Random Thought 3
While in the midst of my FRIENDS MARATHON, Phoebe gave the address of her apartment in one of the episodes. I remember that someone (wonderful) had actually found and Google Mapped the location of Monica & Joey's building.
I admit that last night I did a Google Earth map of the two locations. Did you know it takes them approximately 3 minutes to walk between the two buildings?
Random Thought 4
I looked up a map of where we're going in Arizona to see how far it would be from the Grand Canyon. We have a few spare days and I thought it would be neat to visit if it wasn't too far. I also happened to search for the exact location of Winslow, AZ so I could call my dad and tell him that I was
standing on the corner of Winslow, Arizona.. such a fine sight to see
if you don't get that reference, I'm not sure we can be friends

You should definitely do the drive to the Grand Canyon. You can also hit Sedona on the way back. Gorgeous.

Dain used to call pajamas McJamas. He also used to say wipe instead of white. We still say both all the time just to get on his nerves.
Love when my kiddos mispronounce words. I rarely ever correct them, knowing one day they will stop saying all their cute little phrases and I will miss it horribly!
