Magic Mike:: A review

I had intended to make an afternoon appearance on opening day of Magic Mike.  One thing led to another, life happened and I never made it that weekend.  So when I got a text asking if I wanted to go Monday afternoon, I squealed jumped for joy said sure.

I went in knowing this wasn't going to be any Oscar winning performances.

Let's be honest.  I went for the naked, dancing, hotness that is Matthew Mcconnaughey, Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello.

They did not disappoint.

it's raining men

Matthew McConaughey plays Dallas, the club owner/emcee, occasional dancer.  At times, I felt like I was simply watching an older version of Wooderson from Dazed & Confused.... an older and still hot version. 

Just look at those abs.  I love me a nice set of hip bones.  

there's a new sheriff in town

Not many men can pull off hot pants..  or giving a hands on grinding lesson.  

i'd like a workout partner, please. 

Joe Manganiello provided some comedic relief during one of his dance scenes.   And excellent eye candy.

My favorite part of the movie HANDS DOWN Channing Tatum.

After a glimpse of his only tattoo, I've decided small fonts on a man's rib cage is HOT.  {FYI: It reads side-by-side and his wife has a matching one}

The first solo stripping scene to Ginuwine's "Pony"..  Just WoW.    Who knew sweatpants could be that sexy?

The serious parts of the "plot" were silly.  I could have done with less talking and more dancing.


I also didn't care for the actress playing the female love interest or Alex Pettyfer, the other male dancer.  He was too skeevy to be hot.  I'm also confused as to why Kevin Nash, who played Tarzan, was even in the movie.   The man can not dance and I'm not sure he even had an actual line during the whole thing.

Was this cheesy, pointless movie?  Yep.  Will I buy it the day it's released on DVD?  HELL YES.
