Last month one of the most important people in my life celebrated a birthday.
She has been there from the very beginning and known me longer than anyone else.
I know without a doubt that she would be there for me if I ever needed help to move a body, no questions asked.
Her love and support for me is unconditional.
She is my

Of all the names I have for this person, the highest compliment I can give her is to call her
Mom.

Mom,
I know without a doubt that God knew what he was doing when he picked you as my mother. Although you were young, we fumbled through my childhood becoming closer, figuring things out and growing up together in the process.
You have supported me in some of my darkest days and celebrated my highest highs. It is because of you that I'm able to be the woman I am today.
My childhood was not filled with picket fences or typical family pictures. But it was never lacking for love. You gave me adventures in airports, learning to dance with abandon to our favorite songs and appreciating the magic of fireworks on the Fourth of July or simply watching too many movies from a pallet in the floor.
Thank you for being you, for being my Mom and the best Grandmother my kids' could hope for.
Hope you had an amazing birthday.
Love,
Nat

I love you SO much! And, yes, it made me cry (again). Thank you baby for this and more things than I dare try to list. I'm so very proud of you. With all my <3
