Dearest Nathan,
It's hard for me to believe that you're already 12 years old. I try not to think about how fast you are growing up because when I do, it's bittersweet for me. Not only are you another year older, but so am I. AT the same time, I love watching you turn into the sweet young man you're becoming.

You have such a kind heart. Whoever thought the baby of the family would be such an amazing big brother? Watching the relationship you have with your sister has been a highlight for me as a mother. Your position is a unique one in our family though because not only are you a big brother, but also a little one. You live to torment your big brother. You antagonize and tease, but adore him. It's plain to see that you are the best of friends and I hope it always stays that way.
The times I'm hardest on you are the moments when you remind me most of myself. You are inquisitive and ask questions. alot. I know I'm not always patient, but bare with me. Even if I may not show it, I truly hope you always keep the curious nature you have now. You remind me so much of me it scares me. It's because I know what the next few years have in-store for us, but I have faith we'll get through.
I know I can't make time stand still, but I wish I could. If there was a way for me to slow down your growing up, I would do it in a heartbeat so could cherish each moment a little longer. Regardless of old you are and how many candles we're lighting, you will always be my baby boy. I will always be your mommy. And I will always love you.
xoxox,
Mommy

Awww. :) I love letters like this. I do one every year for each of the kids...it's amazing to look back and see what they've done and how they've grown.
And YAY for the middle kid! :)
I love this. What a wonderful tribute to your son. Sounds like he is quite the guy :)
How sweet!
What a wonderful letter! He sounds like a wonderful young man!
I love letters from mommy. Happy (belated) birthday to you and your boy.
