This time last year

Where has the time gone?  It seems the older I get, the faster the days past.   Here are  my thoughts from a year ago today....

Ready or not...

Here we come 2010..

Wow. It's not only the end of a year, but the end of a decade. Ten years seems so long and so short.. I feel like I've lived an entire lifetime in these years, but also that it was gone in the blink of an eye. Ten years ago, I was barely 20 years old. I had 2 small children, one of which was an infant. I had left my husband and only relationship I had ever known. I moved across the state to start over. I was starting a whole new life. It was full of the unknown and I was scared. At the same time, the not knowing was also exciting. Life was full of endless possibilites. Anything was possible.

In these years, I started college. I made new friends. I walked away from a marriage and learned about myself. I fell in love. I got my heart broke. I went out with friends and met the man of my dreams. I graduated college, married my best friend and finally had my little girl. I celebrated a reunion with old classmates. I made more friends. I lost beloved family members and welcomed new ones. And here we are.

Life has taught me many lessons, some easy and some hard. I've discovered that turning 30 wasn't so bad. Thanks to my closest friends and the best hubby ever, I eased out of my twenties.

I'm still loud, or louder depending on the crowd, and opinionated. I'm fiercely loyal. People fight and grow apart, but that doesn't mean our pathes won't cross again. Life is about the journey, not the destination.

In another ten years, I will be newly 40. My children will be almost 23, 20 and 14. It seems like a life time away, but from experience I know that it will come in a blink of any eye. So tonight as you ring in the new year, be sure to relish the moment. They turn into memories.

The older I get the faster the time goes. That is so scary and the damn truth isn't it?

It is frightening how fast time flies the older I get and less fun I have. Just kidding on the fun part. I'm looking forward to the next 10 years... a lot can happen that's for sure!!
